Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, I am glad that they forego any egos and actually did the right and expected thing. The breach in the KKR bubble could be tracked back and controlled but the breaches with the other 3 sides all seem related to the travel and that just means you can't continue. Hopefully they ensure everyone involved, especially the overseas contingent get back safely.

Word is that since the NZ channel is still open, they may get the Aussies in via NZ and asking them to quarantine there and paying for it. Many of the overseas contingent, esp. many of the Aussies, have been very vocal and contributed in various ways to the funds to help India fight the second wave and I hope all of them get back safely and securely to their homes/wherever they needed to go to, next.

Very real possibility that we may not have the WT20 this year too and time being utilized to finish IPL in the UAE or something. Or maybe they will play the rest of the IPL as a curtain raiser before the WT20 all in the UAE. Who knows? For now, hope everyone makes it safe and sound back to their homes.

BCCI should donate every dollar made to vaccination programs and other medical services. That would go a long way to mollify the critics who were against the tournmaent going ahead.

Unless they've already done something like that, I haven't kept up with it

A mass exodus of Australian players, coaches and support staff to the Maldives is the expected remedy to a dilemma created by the postponement of the 2021 IPL and the current closure of the national border to citizens in India during its rampant Covid-19 outbreak.

The likes of Pat Cummins, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Ricky Ponting, Simon Katich and company are expected to join the commentator Michael Slater, who had already headed to the Maldives as a temporary post in the wake of blanket bans on entry to Australian citizens who have recently been in India, a state of play that will exist until at least May 15.

So NZ, RSA, WI, SL, Afghanistan, Eng players can all return direct. Aussies will spend the 15 days in Maldives before flying back to Australia. Decent compromise, that.

Also Behrendorff donated to the UNICEF fund. WAG. Wish we had seen him play at least a game. Hopefully he does in September if IPL indeed does complete then.

They won't and if they do it'll be a relative pittance.
