Very big BIO Bubble breach by KKR players. When you know , Hospitals are the hotspots of Covid now, what was the need to go there ?

And if injury was serious, the player could have opted out of IPL.

Apparently he went to the hospital and has been in quarantine since. Unsure how his mate also got it then. Things don't add up.

Not possible. They are lying.
All KKR matches should be postponed or cancelled. Can't take any risk.

Otherwise in worst case scenario entire IPL would have to be cancelled.

Whatever it takes!!!

Dats wat they will do.. I dont think taking to hospital is breaking any rules as long as he did quarantine for required time. How the other guy got it needs to be checked. Most likely all KKR games will be postponed for 2 weeks or worst case they will be made to sit out this edition.

Oh dear. The prospect brings tears to my eyes.
Whether you like it or not , it is a good source of entertainment for many people and is particularly needed in these testing times. Otherwise many people will go into depression

Only as long as it does not put the guys in the bubbles in risk. But it's silly for us to say what they should do. It's based on proper investigation, medical advice and risk assessment. All franchises and players have pros around them to do that. Even if there is 10% risk of bubbles being compromised, they would be justified in having to call it off, I feel.

If it turns out to be covid, I will be surprised if the tournament continues.
There’s no way the tournament’s being cancelled, way too much money at stake. Could see KKR having to drop out though and having the rest of the schedule be rejigged.

It was one thing to argue if the bubble was maintained... but if they can't guarantee that then it is difficult to argue they have the players best interest in mind. You can already see the PR nightmare that they are struggling with, when the bubble was not broken.

My view on the IPL going ahead has been no strong opinion either way - if those in India are happy for it to run I thought the furore from some UK based individuals (not on this forum) was overdone at times (some because of a dislike of the IPL overall I'd speculate) when the bubbles were working and you had franchises helping financially (although I suspect a lot of that was done in their own self-interest.)

The Premier League and England Test Matches were held with a high number of Covid deaths given a comparatively tiny UK population after all but you've now got players across international borders to play a domestic tournament thousands of miles away from home where a Covid case has now got into the KKR squad - sounds like only one positive Test minus Chakravarty but other players may need to go to the hospital for whatever reason - its hard to guarantee players will not catch Covid now its happened once post initial Tests on arrival. If you are Narine, Ferguson, Russell, Cummins, Seifert, Morgan etc I suspect you are feeling hesitant at best after today's news. If they were to say they want to leave I suspect you'd have a flurry of other international players follow. Up until now the IPL has mostly seen backup players leave so it hasn't really affected their 'product'

Maybe you could run it without International players but is that something broadcasters would accept I'm dubious as to whether they would.

Depending on how confident you are of Covid numbers falling in the next few months it might even be in the IPL and BCCI's interest to postpone the tournament rather than risk carrying on and having reputational damage. Some players will no doubt be unavailable for a rescheduled 2021 IPL but you could get replacement players and from the BCCI's view its good practice for the World T20 which even if its held in the UAE there are a lot of worse places than India conditions wise to prepare in.

I dont think it possible for the world cup to take place in India this year the only hope is UAE or Australia or New Zealand to take the tournament on, Icc need to get there thinking cap on now before it to late and it not possible to move tournament.

Australia was ment to have the first t20 WC in this batch anyway, sure we can sort something out in 6ish months then just give India 2022.

Whole bunch of KKR players have "fallen ill" to... something... and are self-isolating. Be surprised if tonight's game goes ahead.
I was gonna joke yesterday about how I'd like to hear what Rahul's appendicitis symptoms were but hey, I guess he truly has that and not the covid
