@grecian I've heard a rumour you guys are playing Bolton next week.

Do you a deal. If Bolton and Morecambe draw tomorrow and Tranmere win, then I'll give you a tenner if Exeter take points off Bolton

Go on you ****ing whites

I really enjoy shambles.

Diabolical as well of course. These are very 606 from 15 years ago terms, wonder if things have moved on.
Hard to tell on 606 nowadays, what with Savage not letting anyone else get a word in edgeways.

I miss the days of Spoony doing 606. He probably knew less about football than nearly anyone else who has ever hosted the show, but he was infinitely less obnoxious than most.

I used to enjoy Danny Baker when the show first aired, but I was biased as I'd always enjoyed him in the NME many years earlier. He was as opinionated and verbal as anyone, but there was some attempt at a conversation with the callers, whereas Savage just talks over them.

We have Newport then Bolton, after, apart from Cambridge, a run of insipid performances, it's kinda amazing we still have a chance of another horrible play-off defeat in the final.

Danny Baker was okay, but he hates everything modern, which is pretty wearying, and not really good for a modern football show.

David Baker was brilliant and paved the way for a lot of phone-in stuff. Originally 606 was a mixture of music and phone calls. Gradually he played fewer and fewer songs and 606 evolved into a chat show only. He really like obscure stories rather than fans just phoning up ranting after their team had lost. His style was something I hadn't heard before. In those days phone-ins on Radio 5 were quite formulaic with a caller being introduced and thanked for the call at the end. He just whisked through calls with no thanks at the end and would cut callers off and move on on a whim. 606 is a bit like a long running musical in the West End- it remains solid but doesn't match the original cast.
I quite like Danny Kelly as well.

I quite enjoyed today. Stuff being decided at the top and bottom. I wasn't convinced at the turn of the year that the season would finish on schedule and with no teams going out of business.

English football having a four week social media boycott next months. That should achieve .................... nothing in the long term.

It's been an interesting few days on and off the field despite the lack of activity in this thread. Lots of stuff (good word that) being decided. Plenty still to be decided, including whether Ryan Giggs will be in the Welsh dressing room or in prison for the Euros.

Looking the play-offs for us but if we win on Sat and grecian's mob get 3 points then it goes to the wire.

There is another avenue with Cambridge still needing a couple of points but as they have an already-down Grimsby on the last day I don't hold too much hope out there.

We need to really up our performance to have a prayer against Bolton, but you never know, those two late goals against an admittedly awful 10-man team, may springboard us to more play-off hell, just hope Salford don't get there the hype would be unbearable.
