Yeah true. There are bound to be loads of reasons for explaining these sorts of things. I just find it somewhat... anti-intuitive I guess.
Most of our players have improved under him on an individual level. As Mags says it's a co-ordination thing. They have no idea how to combine in the final third.

Lol Werner can’t catch a break. The most ludicrous VAR offside yet.

Chelsea look much the better team to me. Liverpool could easily miss top four.

Ole gets fired tomorrow, what attackers bar Rashford would miss him?

Bruno is elite and would do well under any good manager, Martial has turned into Shane Long, James is so-so, Greenwood has regressed although obviously very young. Mata has been banished and its doubtful that Cavani and Pogba would produce less under any other high level manager. DVB would have a party to celebrate him gone.

Ole will go some day, maybe this summer, the next etc, but I can confidently predict like Lampard this is the absolute peak of his managerial career.

No other side with aspirations of top 4 soccer in any of the elite league's would touch him.

Nice propaganda this, where do you even begin?

Another 200 million please Woodward to break down Crystal Palace and Sheff Utd.

The team looks knackered and while covid is obviously not helping, its Ole's inability to rotate and his lack of trust in his squad players which is a killer.
I think he does rotate. If you look at the stats, United have actually made more lineup changes than the average team and they have also been hit less with injuries as a result.

United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Spurs all have heavy schedules due to European competitions and also progress in cup competitions so they have all made lineup changes to compensate. Having said that, in United's case, they have been heavily reliant on certain players to perform certain roles in order to function effectively.

- Bruno, very obviously, to create chances.
- Rashford to use his pace and burn teams on the counter.
- Fred for midfield workrate and pressing off the ball.
- Pogba for creativity from deeper positions.
- McT for a more all round display in various phases of the game

When the above are tired or injured they need to compensate somehow and the players they have coming in don't quite cut it for the roles they're supposed to play. As a result, for Ole it's about rotating those key players as opposed to the full squad that is the challenge. His lack of trust in squad players is mostly justified if you look at the players who can come in and play the above roles without the team experiencing a serious drop in quality.

Ok that's a fair post.

He has ran the likes of Rashford and Bruno into the ground though, was genuinely shocked when he decided to give both of them 45 mins last week when 4-0 up after the first leg.

It happened last year with Bruno also, finished the season very poorly as he was knackered.

I agree completely regarding last season, and I think Ole is unlikely to deny that either. Bruno was pretty much running on fumes towards the end of it - that was plain enough to see.

It's not been as bad this season though. Playing 45 minutes in second gear on a Thursday and playing again on Sunday is not something that would trouble a professional footballer.

When we play okay we win, when we play less than okay we draw or lose.

Well, no **** sherlock, but the problem is promotion sides tend to often play poorly and snatch wins or even undeserved draws against rivals, we are not doing that, so about 7th and more play-off hell seems to be our zenith. Could of course all change in the run-in, and TBH that's the best time for it to change.

Yet it feels meh, at least Randall is showing his early season form, now the thought of moving to Glasgow has finally stopped permeating in his head, enoughto put anyone of their game, and Matt Jay wonderful, but not sure about our social media.

One year ago today we beat Macclesfield 3-0 in our 37th, and what turned out to be final, game of the 2019/20 season.
Awarded promotion on PPG a few months later and now mid table in League One. For that incarnation of Macclesfield it was their last ever match. They’ll be restarting somewhere down the pyramid next season.
