Haaland + Messi in the summer window, thanks.

Boil an ocean of piss. **** everyone else.

I think they will get 1 at least.

Messi its between PSG and City, Haaland between Chelsea, PSG and City.

Madrid don't have the money , Italian sides would probably try to sign them on loan and nearly sure Barca couldn't afford Shane Long this Summer.

Although not as sure Haaland leaves this Summer as some are, but even still nobody else will be able to compete for him next Summer.

Well maybe Bayern also for Haaland tbf.

So 4 clubs with any realistic chance of signing him.

Isn't he with Raiola? Might be that he never moves as there's not a big enough deal for Raiola's cut

Yeah good point.

I know some City fans are adamant Pep won't want the hassle, but he's a generational talent tbf, so its possible that Pep and the board may suck it up and sign him, he's that good.

Can't imagine Chelsea or PSG would care to much about Raiola getting paid stupid money either.

Dortmund look like they could need the money, especially if they miss the top 4. His release clause drops by a lot if they leave it another year.

Pretty sure he wants to play PL so City are probably favourites, but who knows.

I know everyone says the Spanish clubs have no money but I still expect Real will do something big soon.

PSG will probably have to lose Mbappe to sign Messi. Which is possible if Madrid are able to come up with some "legit" funds to sign him, but I'd be very surprised if it happened. There's less than zero chance that they sign Haaland though, I'd bet my life on that. Messi will either stay at Barca or join City IMO, the public noise from PSG is desperation.

From the noise around Haaland from actual sources and people I'd trust, it's between City and United for him, there was strong reporting today that he doesn't want Chelsea, but you never know with Roman. Ole gave Erling his start at Molde and they have a good relationship, which I'm sure will be a factor. But Alf and Erling have made decisions entirely for the best of his career, so I'd imagine City would be the solid favourites. Especially considering the internet is plastered with pictures of Erling growing up and wearing various City jerseys and attending various City games.

The thing with Haaland staying another season is that he has a release clause for 75m euro that activates for the 2022 season, so Dortmund really are incentivised to sell now. Especially if the don't make the Champions League for next year. If he does stay another year I'd be much less confident in signing him - pretty much every big side in the world will be able to come up with 75m, bar maybe Barca.

Yeah Ole has done ok as United manager , but ignore the hyperbole he ultimately will finish his second full season as manager without winning a cup and hanging onto a top 4 spot due to teams like Leicester and Spurs been inconsistent.

The team looks knackered and while covid is obviously not helping, its Ole's inability to rotate and his lack of trust in his squad players which is a killer.

The friendship Ole has with Haaland is all well and good, but its not the most attractive of choices tbh.

I don't understand ruling out Chelsea, they were garbage under Frank, but its still an elite squad with a good manager and wealthy owner and situated in London.

Tuchel will be sacked within 18 months, as every Chelsea manager is. They might well miss out on CL qualification still and they've got a geriatric defence.

Just a few reasons *shrug*

He's done OK in a lot of respects but he's still self-evidently hopeless at attacking coaching. Missing out on Poch because he was on a decent run looks like it'll age pretty badly.

I always find it a bit strange when coaches who were attacking players are not good at attacking coaching. Or when coaches who were defenders are bad at defensive coaching, or whatever. You'd think more often than not that would be their specialism.

I mean I guess there's no reason why this should be surprising really. Plenty of good ex-players who go on to become pundits or what have you frequently say/do things that suggest that despite being having previously been good at it they have a very poor understanding of the game, so this sort of thing is hardly unusual.

My memory of Solskjær was that he was a very instinctive player. He had a knack for being in the right place at the right time, but that's not something that's easy to explain as it's often about how well you are able to read the game and situation around you.

Also setting up a team attacking pattern and convincing people how and why to do it is something different altogether

Yeah true. There are bound to be loads of reasons for explaining these sorts of things. I just find it somewhat... anti-intuitive I guess.
