*Official* 2nd Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, 13 - 17 Feb 2021

I do agree with you that the toss has been an advantage here tbh. Most of the defensiveness is because the idea that the toss is a much bigger advantage on spinning decks in Asia than on green decks abroad is misguided and it never becomes such a massive topic of discussion in those cases atleast imo. Hard not to feel some anti-spin bias whenever its mentioned.
That’s a fair point, but the difference is that gives the captain a decision to make

You guys defending against the toss being a factor need to shut the **** up. You complain about the toss being a factor when you are getting your ass handed to you - not when you are handing ass. Trying to preserve the legitimacy of your win, by dispelling the myth of the toss, just makes you come across as big douches.
Watch the two matches ball by ball before writing a comment such as this which could not be further from the truth.

Had Indian batsmen actually got some game time prior to the first test (India playing at home after 1.5 ****ing years, having toured away in NZ and spending an eternity in Aus), and adjusted, they could have countered England's first innings score with at least 450 odd, if not more and could've even chased it down in 4th innings.

Indian batsmen batted like retards in that and paid for it. The toss wasn't a factor in it. And isn't a factor in this match either.

The fact Kohli had to get a review before walking off was funny. WAC
Has a bit of a reputation of consuming one out of 2-3 reviews no matter how dead it is. Remember the last time India toured England, he made a few poor reviews (though admittedly it was a one man show from him back then).

Great batsman obviously, but has his brain stocked with dog**** at times.

There's one guy complaining about the toss and he's Indian.

Kohli's a big baby who complains about pitches like every other cricket player and fan in history. We're all giant complaining babies, that's what makes the game fun.

Apparently pitches where Thakur and Co. can get the ball to rise to the throat from good length is definition of "good" pitch according to some.
Actually the ICC rated the Aus pitches this summer as being pretty mediocre, which I thought was ****ing absurd. They'll be completely fine with pitches so flat that physical exhaustion is the only reason a decisive result is possible, but a little inconsistent bounce and they lose their minds (or, at least, downgrade the pitches).

Watch the 1st Test pitch get a "very good" rating while this one gets "poor", despite the latter being far more interesting to watch than the former.

Only caught bits and pieces of the game today. Rohit seemed to be living a charmed life in that last session but can't begrudge him too much since his innings yesterday was special and clearly match winning.

Really nice to see Foakes doing well. I don't know how England fit him in the side moving forwards but there's definitely a Test quality player there. Otherwise England's batting performance was of roughly equal quality with the posting in this thread today, which I've just masochistically read back through.
