TBF, Leach has bowled some very tough ones off that length.. Better chances if you hit him off that length a little bit.

I don't dislike the opening option whatsoever but yeah above seems fair.
Ideally if he were to commit to test opening I think he would need some time in the Ranji opening and with him getting picked with the limited overs team regularly when will he play that?
Would he ease up on bowling also? Cant imagine the limited over Indian selectors would be keen on that either.
Basically bring back Stuart Binny ASAP.

Batted out the session though and made a serious dent in the deficit too. England won't set anything less than 400, which means we won't be batting again until about an hour from day-end at the earliest. Really should save this.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but he bowled really well on debut. Strong action, gets nicely side on, gets right through his action with his body and has a good FC record.
He's been **** here and had actually been in what seems like pretty awful form all season judging from his returns in the IPL and the SMAT (admittedly a very different format), plus I think Kuldeep is clearly a better bowler anyway, so it was a bad selection IMO, but he's not a prank cricketer.

England's catching has probably reduced this deficit by atleast 150 on its own. Great all round performance from them so far.

I'm wrong on many counts with this game. I thought Kohli will score a double hundy and England spinners will barely get any wickets. Proven wrong big time. Spinners knock over 6 of them and Kohli gets bugger all. What's happening? Indians can't play spin at home anymore?
