My eldest was born not long before that series and one of my early memories of parenthood is listening to the cricket on the radio during the night while I was up with my son.
Special memory that one. My eldest arrive in February 2002 and spent his formative weeks watching us win the the curling at the Winter Olympics at around 3.00am

I was beyond excited that Sundar was able to help win a test match when they needed him, but he should NOT be close to this side.

And if you're gonna go with the lunacy of three spinners and not pick Yadav, he should also not be close to the side.

Sundar's negative lines on the first day of a Test in India really grated. Understandable in Aus where we were perpetually fire-fighting, but he should know better in home conditions. Then again you can't blame him if that is all he's known so far in his career. The brains trust has a few questions to answer.

My daughter was born in the very early hours of the day after Woakes's and Buttler's stand won us the first test v Pakistan last year.

I remember thinking in the delivery suite (as I surreptitiously checked cricinfo on my mobile every other minute and they got closer and closer to what looked an improbable target) this could be a great day to be born on.

She used a lady's prerogative to take her time though, and didn't take her first guard until 3.49am the next morning.

Anyhoo, full credit to Sibley. Did fear for him after his first three efforts in SL, but he does find a way. He's never going to be stylish but does put a price on his wicket.

A shame 87 got its man right at stumps though.
