... If he scores 22 more runs the following day it'll be the 3rd time in a row in tests he reached at least '3 50's in an innings'
I know... imagine getting Pujara and Kohli out for low scores and conceding over 700 runs!
Seriously, such a massive breath of fresh air in one respect but also infuriating in another. That slog sweep into the stands from root was how you're supposed to play off spinners
I don't want India to get fisted at home. Please guys, launch a comeback while I sleep tonight!Sure, and england is a solid morning away from fisting India to death in the match, so there’s that
I'm praying for 350 a/o followed by Rohit and Gill centuries. But even an innings defeat is on the cards here so I'm very worried. To be fair Burns tried to show intent and that didn't end up too well. Slower scoring always leaves you a bit more vulnerable if you start poorly on Day 2 but the assumption you get 50+ more runs with no risk is misplaced - England have had a very good day but that late wicket evens it up a tad I think. England still in front but India a solid morning session away from having England 330/5 and on course for 400/450 instead of getting 550/600 and near enough taking an India win out the equation.
Nah there's absolutely no chance of that with us batting first. There's no scenario in which we don't bat again.I'm praying for 350 a/o followed by Rohit and Gill centuries. But even an innings defeat is on the cards here so I'm very worried.
I had a dream that Ganguly took five wickets so my mind is not constrained with what is and isn't possible.Nah there's absolutely no chance of that with us batting first. There's no scenario in which we don't bat again.
Likewise. Mind you, I have no recollection at all of the guy who scored 300 against us in that match. Turns out he only played six test matches; so either he really pissed off Kohli at some point, or the Indian selectors really didn't rate that England attack.I totally forgot that Jake Ball played in that match. In fact I pretty much just forgot about Jake Ball.
Never seen Root bat badly against Anderson so don't understand the comparisonToday in completely reasonable, not clickbait headlines.View attachment 27165
My eldest was born not long before that series and one of my early memories of parenthood is listening to the cricket on the radio during the night while I was up with my son. I remember the awful inevitability of the Nair triple and the J Yadav centuries, but I too had totally repressed the memory of Jake Ball.Likewise.
