May be nit picking here, but should Root have maybe batted 3 and not Lawrence? I know how insane Root was at 4 in Sri Lanka but seems like asking Lawrence to bat 3 here is throwing him to the wolves a bit.

Burns was premeditating aggressive shots vs the spin through that innnings. Wasn't really needed given how benign the conditions were. Not playing since September certainly wouldn't help with finding the right tempo, so I wouldn't be too critical of him in this instance however stupid the shot looks in isolation. They've basically shown though in that one session why they'll probably lose 4-0.
