fleming should have scored more runs. so, probably, should taylor.

sinclair.

pinga, though not really his fault. can't score runs if the selectors are afraid you'll slog a few more than the nurdling little kiwi battlers they love so much.
Hahaha your Ingram love is blind. Not his fault? How did the selectors run scared? Or was it this you remember....

0.6 151 kph, good length from Tait, Ingram plays down the wrong line and is bowled! It just didn't seem as if he picked that one up - or any of the three... 10/1

I thought Wally Edwards was going to be a thing. We were searching for an opener back then and I liked him because he seemed to promise success, was a bit dashing and a lefty back then was exotic. Turned to **** real quick though.

ingram not seeing a ball from shaun tait doesn't mean the selectors weren't absolute cowards with his test career (dropped after being run out twice i believe) or that he wasn't the best non-mccullum opener available by a very, very long way.

I remember Wally Edwards from the 74/75 Ashes. That's still one of my favourite series. One thing that always stuck in my mind from that time was Australia used to announce their side for the next Test before the Test in progress had finished. So Wally Edwards knew he'd been dropped before he played his last innings. I always thought was a bit odd and not entirely fair.

He must’ve expected the bullet tbf. I remember when he backed up too far and Titmus had him cold for a Mankad. Titmus refrained from breaking the wicket and politely returned to his mark. On top of his courageous batting and skilful bowling Titmus remains one of my favourite cricketers.

Fred Titmus was generally a fairly mild mannered cricketer. But during that series he had a piece in one of the Sunday papers saying how he wished Australian umpires understood the LBW law because he reckoned he should have had several decisions he didn't get. Whether that was true or not I don't know, but it certainly irked him a bit.

It was a tragedy when Fred lost some toes in the Windies. One of my favourite lesser lights from the past.
He was pretty good. Or maybe left an outsized impression on a younger me. Both he and Cowdrey. As a teenager I was just wrapped in Chappelli's team. Those two opened my eyes to the quality of players from the past. Especially as both were in their 40s in that series and couldn't of been at their best.

From my memory he was right to complain. He bowled well in Perth (I think) getting lovely flight and drift, beating our batsman but not convincing the umpires. Though I think he did get Ian Chappell lbw trying to sweep. So it must've been plumb.

Edit: Greg Chappell.

Whatever it takes!!!
Many have disappointed but always thought Badrinath was good and was even good when he played tests. It was unfortunate the career never went further.

To answer the question properly, many to name but most recent would be Irfan Pathan and L Balaji.

I'd say Bhuvi. Just not seeing him consistently in tests is so disappointing, but that's on the selectors, as his performances have been pretty good generally

If his international career petered out I'd be distraught
