This. A lot of mentions for finger spinners and dobbly medium pacers just because they have low economy rates, but that doesn't mean they aren't hittable. Just that it was more rewarding, and less risky, to score off them a different way.I think of unhittable as a bowler you cannot hit for big shots when you are really trying to, and in that respect, Archer, Starc and Bumrah along with Rashid Khan are well ahead of others IMO.
Yeah, he was a fine cricketer back in the day. But a very boring one. He batted as slowly as he bowled from what my old man told me.That's an excellent pick. Also, just did a google search to read more about him, Nadkarni was an all-rounder, apart from bowing (ultra)-economical spells and picking wickets, he has even played some fine knocks.
Can't blame him, if a batsman shuffles across the off stump and plays the ramp shot to the yorker as if it were a full toss..De Villiers has a strike rate of 200+ against him in ODIs.
woahOut of the bowlers I have faced, Zaheer Khan Because I could barely see the ball, that made me wonder how tough it must be facing guys who are out and out pace bowlers, Zaheer was still fast-medium and not bowling at his 100% to me.
On a lighter note, would you relish facing Symonds as the 5th bowler if you were playing an ODI ?This isn’t a humblebrag cos I’m just a very average club cricketer, but I have faced a few guys who’ve played international cricket (weren’t great international cricketers but were very good state cricketers). I faced them past their prime when they returned to club cricket.
It‘s not that you can’t see the ball (you can) but it’s more that they just give you no scoring options. You can defend successfully for a while (perhaps) but scoring seems impossible.
It’s always staggered me how great international batsmen on occasion make it look reasonably fluent facing guys like McGrath, Ambrose or Garner. I literally can’t conceive of how you’d do anything against guys of their caliber except try and survive.
Which I guess is why I’m a very average club cricketer...
I’d make the same mistake that many did of underestimating how good he actually was.On a lighter note, would you relish facing Symonds as the 5th bowler if you were playing an ODI ?
Just tonk him over his head.I’d make the same mistake that many did of underestimating how good he actually was.
I've played for plenty of clubs in Mumbai. I faced Zaheer during one of the net sessions at Cross Maidan. Another famous bowler I have faced is Pravin Tambe at the Hindu Gymkhana ground during a match, this was after he got IPL fame. He was a very simple guy, and he blended in with his team mates as if he was just another player, very grounded.woah
how did you get the chance to bat against zak
He Red-piled you? I will show myself out.I’d make the same mistake that many did of underestimating how good he actually was.
Based and redpilledHe Red-piled you? I will show myself out.
I have no idea what this means but I'll assume it's funny? He Red-piled you? I will show myself out.
might get away with it once or twice but eventually he'd jag one off the pitch and I'd sky a thick edge to pointJust tonk him over his head.
You played VTCA?I've faced Indika Gallage & Waddington Mwayenga. Both past their prime tho.
