Australia T20 side to tour NZ

Good number of young lads in the mix. When are our selectors going to invest on some youth for these jam T20Is? Hoping one of Finn Allen or Ben Sears to make the team if not both. Chances are they won't.

It's partly because they have a separate test squad heading to South Africa so none of them are taking part

No chance Allen will get a callup. Seifert, Phillips, Munro and even Guptill still ahead of him in the top order queue. With Milne fit and Ferguson on the comeback trail I heavily doubt Sears will get a callup either. He'd need to keep averaging 3+ wickets a game and even then it wouldn't be a certainty.

Dream11 signs up for a whooping six year contract for title sponsorship for super smash. They must be seeing some potential surely.

No more of one year burger king, next georgie pie, the next maccas .. Hopefully NZC has signed a good deal and hoping to see that invested in grass root cricket.

What would a full strength team even look like at this point?

1. Tim Seifert
2. Devon Conway
3. Kane Williamson
4. Glenn Phillips
5. Collin Munro
6. James Neesham
7. Mitchell Santner
8. Adam Milne
9. Tim Southee
10. Ish Sodhi
11. Lockie Ferguson

Kuggs, Jamieson reserve bowlers
Guptill, Chapman, Young, reserve bats

I remember last season it was a one year deal, so great that they are extending it ... although sad we never got KFC to complete the super basic junk food full house.

Chapman for Munro. Good reserves. Guppy needs one last go vs the Aussie.

I'm hoping they'll pick one of Sears, Allen or even Ravindra vs Bangladesh. Want to see some of our young ones play at the highest level. Every country has gun young players. We need to get them in too at sooner than later.

The T20 night games in NZ can be a decent time slot for India. I am wondering if they will get BCCI to release their players at least for the Super Smash T20 or something. They cant be throwing in this much money out of nowhere, surely.

Wade dropped from the test side, no surprise I guess after throwing away so many starts. I think someone said earlier that there were only one or two test players who featured in their last couple of T20 sides. Will be interesting to see who is seen as the favourite.

larsen confirms lockie wont play vs aus

looks like its time for milne to bowl some gorgeous economical overs with 0.2 wickets per match

Sears declines interview  and confirmed he puts studies ahead of cricket.

The not so good news is Rachin Ravindra's super smash campaign is over. That's very disappointing. He was in very good touch and will be missing watching those lovely looking shots all around the ground. I think he's the best looking batsman in NZ barring Kane.

Why do I feel its not just super smash he's going to miss? If it's a dislocated shoulder its not going to be fixed in 2 weeks. William Young with the same injury opting for op missed out on cricket for like 7 months. If it's not as worse he'll still be sidelined for 3-4 months for rehab even without surgery. Not sounding good for Ravindra and huge disappointment if the injury is quite bad. He looked wobbly on his feet and looked like shoulder was hanging. Not great for firebirds, he's a serious player for them.

From memory it was the right shoulder. Not the bowling arm but he's a left handed bat. He'll still need that in good shape to bat.

It doesn’t really say he puts study ahead of cricket, does it? Just that he’s got two years left on a law degree. And sounds like Cricket Wellington turned down the interview ... mustn’t want him distracted by the bright lights of a Stuff interview, could take him right off the rails.

Yeah, there was a 40 in the Ford Trophy on December 8, but I can't see anything better than that this season.
