Agreed. But consider also that this forum mostly has the malcontents and contrarians who'd get laughed out of the door on the truly representative Indian forum. And on that forum, Pant has enjoyed consistent support since his test debut.

Nah, no one afaik hated him. Saha's better keeping and decent batting was thought to be slightly superior but when it was discovered to have deteriorated, no one here questioned Pant's inclusion in the second test

Yeah given Pant was in excellent form in the DN practise match, and that he actually kept wickets in that one, I thought it would be Pant who would play Adelaide test.
