Bizarre playing condition where you can on the one hand play til 6pm local but on the other you can't come back on if you're off the park at 5

Gilly now saying they can come back on the park up to 5.30 as they'd set a later stumps time. But it seems odd to me you wouldn't be able to come back on any time til stumps. This happened the other night too.

This would require either the umpires to have missed something blatant, or for you to have made a pinpoint call, probably from an unhelpful front-on camera.

What have I missed here? I’m actually quite good at reading so perhaps your writing is the problem.

Looked like Australia batted on perhaps 15-20 minutes too long. It was clear rain was incoming around 4.30 and could have let loose themselves for a good 20 mins or so on the openers.

I think Langer probably left it to fate and Indian bowlers to bowl them out to escape any criticism whatsoever of a declaration error.

It is very simple, they did not call intimidatory bowling when it was actually going on and called it at a time when it was not. That is the simple fact that you have missed and if that is what you call "good" at reading, I can see why you think this was "good" umpiring.

EDIT: I didn't mind them not calling the no-balls and intimidatory bowling earlier as I thought they were erring on the side of the bowler, which is ok with me as long as its consistent and it obvious that both common sense and any idea of consistency went out of the window with that call today.

It is very simple, they did not call intimidatory bowling when it was actually going on and called it at a time when it was not. That is the simple fact that you have missed and if that is what you call "good" at reading, I can see why you think this was "good" umpiring.
