Where I think they get it wrong is that they forget that the short ball makes the yorker a much more dangerous delivery.
The other good ball to the tail is the slower ball, much greater chance of a tail ender mistiming it. And to someone like Shardul who obviously has an idea of what they're doing, bowl normally.

Saini and Natarajan are not 'most tailenders'. They are bunnies.
Saini did manage a 40-odd in a tight low-scoring one-day in fairness. Plus he's looked absolutely village against the short ball.

I agree re: Natarajan though. Siraj doesn't seem that much worse than your average tailender.

Yeah the slower ball is criminally underused in Tests in general.

Would be interesting to see Australia's approach here with a very small lead, 2 days to go and potential rain looming.
