I don't know about that tbh. He's barely been hit at all, aside from Pant a few times in Sydney, and those after he had him dropped. He's going at <3 an over and has had half a dozen catches dropped over the series. If that's the most pressure he's been under in his career here, he's led a charmed life.I dont think he has felt this kind of pressure probably ever in his career in Aus.
Spark etc have pointed this out before - but that's how fine the margins are at International cricket. Lyon's bowled some great spells this series, but he's been slightly off his best in a couple of sessions, had some dropped catches, and is now averaging like 60 for the series.I definitely feel like Lyon hasn't been at his best, not putting quite enough energy in his action, but it isn't like he's had an absolute disasterous series like some are implying
Yeah Harris and Wade will both make lame second innings tons here that keep better players out of the first couple of Tests in South Africa. What are we betting on Harris?
Ordinarily I would say he'll get **** all, drop catches a la Headingly and have a quantifiably negative impact on the game. But, the man is such a carcinoma on Australian cricket that I've a feeling he will find a way to make a decent score against a depleted attack, sadly sufficient to retain a spot in or around the squad for the next year or so on the back of the likely innings win. I hope I'm mistaken and he fails, but I have a bad feeling about this
Speaking of which, daily reminder that Head > Wade.Yeah Harris and Wade will both make lame second innings tons here that keep better players out of the first couple of Tests in South Africa.

Reckon they probably will if they bat first. Hopefully they declare before Wade gets in.I don't think they'll have a second innings tbh, but we shall see
Genuinely have to wonder how Wade keeps getting picked in the middle order. he has had Harris-like performances this series, albeit he opened up early on.Speaking of which, daily reminder that Head > Wade.
TBH, he has a point. Playing a full season over so much time when everyone knew the lockdowns had been happening and no one was sure how these athletes' bodies will react to the workload fluctuations. I think he was making an earnest point too, not trying to score any brownie points.Langer blaming Indian injuries on IPL, LoL.
Ishant got hurt training during the IPL after 1 game, and Rohit got hurt in the IPL and so joined the squad late. So that's 2 IPL injuries.TBH, he has a point. Elite Honesty, perhaps.
Even impact injuries aren't necessarily always unavoidable. Certain failures of technique make them a lot more likely. Some of the injuries have obviously been unlucky and unavoidable - impact injuries especially - but soft tissues injuries are pretty typical signs of a lack of conditioning. It's not a huge surprise in that sense.
