No blame at all. Not like he was unaware of the criticisms leveled at him. To come out and play the way he did, with a sore elbow...sheesh can't even fathom the amount of cool and character needed.
Well tbf he should have been nice and fresh

What happened to 'he can bat' Ashwin anyway?
he cbf now. plays some nice shots then throws it away. Doesn't have the stomach to grind out vs good bowling now. Kinda like Broad's decline with the bat, except not triggered by short ball ptsd.

He should be next man in with orders to grind and survive, then perhaps Jadeja before the 3 quicks.

India should play Pant as a specialist batsman and have Saha as keeper. Vihari may be playing for his spot here.
yea this is fair

Had Pant gotten his century it would have been a legit great one. Away from home, tough conditions, good bowling attack, 4th innings with a game on the line. Played some excellent shots for it. Had some luck go his way, but all great innings do. Certainly deserves to play the next Test if he can.

jesus

apart from that, sounds like a proper bloody knock from a guy i considered a bit of a joke tbh. fair play to the dude.
Oh yeah it was genuinely quality ball striking. And tbf they were both up to the stumps and either stick or don’t. It you expect them to be taken
