he cbf now. plays some nice shots then throws it away. Doesn't have the stomach to grind out vs good bowling now. Kinda like Broad's decline with the bat, except not triggered by short ball ptsd.

He should be next man in with orders to grind and survive, then perhaps Jadeja before the 3 quicks.

yea this is fair

Had Pant gotten his century it would have been a legit great one. Away from home, tough conditions, good bowling attack, 4th innings with a game on the line. Played some excellent shots for it. Had some luck go his way, but all great innings do. Certainly deserves to play the next Test if he can.

They should just bat half hour at a time. No need to think about it more than that. They can re-assess in the unlikely scenario there's an hour left and they have a bunch of wickets left.

It was entertaining, but lots of risks. He could have gotten out on a bunch of balls. Or could have made 150 if his luck kept going.

Oh yeah it was genuinely quality ball striking. And tbf they were both up to the stumps and either stick or don’t. It you expect them to be taken
