Thought his first spell was decent but didn’t do much afterwards. Had that one spell where he sort of lost the plot a bit. Saini was pretty horrendous wasn’t he? Bowled that one decent ball but otherwise meh.

That's the best the team had. Natarajan would have got clobbered here with the soft ball and slow pitch, Pucovski would have remained 90 not out by the end of the day.

Saha is a better keeper than Pant, but Pant is a better batsman which is why the team persists with him.

And Pant can sledge.

Saha dropped what, 3 catches in the only test he played, is at the tail end of his career and adds nothing with the bat. Pant is a better option in every way.

missed 2 half chances (the 2nd of which I'd expect him to take tbf) and didn't grass any sitters, which is the key part given Pant's drop off Ashwin's bowling today.

If Saha isn't the solution, given his age and lack of runs, then surely we can find another keeping prospect for Tests that is not Pant. Srikar Bharat played for India A recently, and maybe it's time to give Shreevats Goswami a go.
