Whatever it takes!!!
Sad that an almost defining performance from two bona fide Pak youngsters, both future stars I am sure, had to end like that but NZ have been playing extremely well at home and been good enough abroad to nick the #1 ranking, so well done to them. Been ruthless at home and competitive away and you really can't ask for much more from any side going around right now.

How class is Rizwan? Just an excellent cricketer
He’s impressive, and the two times he was dismissed changed the Test incredibly. The first innings run out opened an end as did the lbw in the second. Both massive moments.

There’s a lot said about our side, how great we are as individuals and as a team, but we’ve just developed that elusive trait as a side to come up trumps when the heat is on. I wonder if they've worked with mental skills coaches or whether it's been developed from within?

McConchie could be a handy option in the #7 who bowls 5 overs of spin per day role. Always struck me as a more-than-the-sum-of-his-parts, better-than-the-stats-suggest kind of cricketer. Rodent just can't qute seem to get out of white ball mode.

Alternatively, Rippon would make this truly the strangest timeline.

Stability of the team would be a big factor IMO. Knowing what your teammates are capable of doing and being able to trust them to perform because you've played tons of cricket together will relax the whole side and help a lot in such situations.

I hope Bracewell is well down the list. The guy has had 27 tests, and - except for one game in 2011 he hasn’t done nearly enough on the field to justify his selection now. Not to mention a long run of injuries and a series of drink driving convictions.

I think the selectors will be conservative and go for Henry on his home ground. But I wouldn’t mind seeing Duffy have a go.
