A little hope for Pakistan here if they go to lunch without any further wickets. Not surprisingly, any up-and-down-ness is pretty gentle.

Then it's the second new ball and if they lose max 1 wicket to that then have a chance to bat out the day.

Great fight from pakistan. Their discipline with the bat has been great overall.

It would be very convenient if Santner, being a handy batsman, would be good enough with the ball to be our number one spin bowler and take important wickets.

Unfortunately he's provided no real sign of doing that, ever. Not in FC cricket in NZ, not in tests at home, not in tests in Asia. And it's surprising how inaccurately he's bowling, even here.
