That's the second time Green has been dismissed due to a poorly cued pull shot. Needs to work on that.

it really looks like he's overhitting them rather than staying through the shot. he basically tried to hit that for six.

Green's always been really good on the pull/hook in the shield stuff, even when be was still batting 8/9. Weird to see him getting out to it now that he's at international level.

where does green bat in the shield? #6 is probably a bit low to then be #6 against the indian attack, but if he's a #4 or something then yea more should be expected.

Reminder that it has been 2 years and 9 months / 6 tests since an Australian batsman has scored a century against India.

The second most recent centurian (behind Smith) against India is Glenn Maxwell.

The most recent century at home against India by a batsman other than Smith or Warner was made in 2014 by Michael Clarke.

Six of the last eight centuries against India and seven of the last eleven centuries against India were made by Steven Smith.

i think he's actually more suited to #5 than #6. this is an old saw i haven't taken up since mike hussey was a thing, but i think #6 genuinely works best if you have a different skillset than #5 which is more "typical" middle order slot.

That shot off Starc's pads was one of the best technical shots played this innings by an Australian batsman.
