Weird, first Nicholls not reviewing a catch off the arm in the NZ/Pakistan game and now this. and with the extra review available too!

I think he was in his own head. It shows Bavuma's mindset, half of that was the shot he played. Because it is exactly why his position is questioned so often for the team, no matter how well he has done.

Faf. Nice for him. 37 now.

9th SA test batsmen to 4k test runs.

10th test century. 10th on all-time SA list moving past Dudley Nourse who he was equal on 9 with.

From memory Allan Lamb never got a particularly huge score?
Yup. Good knowledge. Top score of 142.

Meanwhile I honestly thought Buvuma had smacked the leather off the ball; the sound was loud and very nickish, but he missed it by a good inch and a half.

He's either got a clicky handle or some seriously arthritic wrists.

Don't think young Mulder especially rates Hasaranga. Needs to be careful he doesn't take the Mickey Bliss too much and chuck his wicket away though.

Bavuma and Paine today show us that batsmen often don't have a clue whether or not they nicked the ball
And Joe Burns, earlier today/tonight.

The theory that the batsman always knows, has been debunked many times.

Also: India had an LBW-review today, whereas the ball had pitched miles outside leg.

As long as you don't go to Cameron Green levels of hype. That's when you know it's all doomed.

Happy for Faf, thought he might be done. Thank god for Sri Lankan fast bowling.
Was seeing that and shaking my head. Finally "the new Keith Miller" or "the best since Ponting" and from the big boys in the press too. The building up was to all new levels.

TBF given how he waited so late he probably ran out of time by the time he made the review signal and missed his bat even doing that, I reckon it was more out of sheer hope he could somehow avoid international death.

Whatever it takes!!!

TBF, the only guy pushing for it was seemingly the bowler and the way Rahane signalled the review, it was obvious they were just pleasing the youngster on debut rather than any real hopes that it will be out.
