Yeah he stopped trusting what he'd been doing up to that point, probably thinking too much about the century. And gone... But why? Don't get this shot at all. He has a hundred for taking here.

I think if you told them each at the start of the innings that Blackwood was going to hit Wagner for five boundaries and ton up, but eventually get caught square leg off his bowling, Blackwood would've been the only one smiling. 1-1 seems generous to Wagner given that. 2-1 perhaps.I suppose we can call it Blackwood 1-1 Wagner then?
I'm sure quietly we want our opponents to play good cricket and we win. The England and India series offered lots but delivered very little in terms of competition in test cricket. England at least drew a test. Aussie is one team that will definitely give us a run for money even on these decks I feel.
Still a test match and a fresh series to go. Let's see how it goes, hoping for some stiff competition from WI in the next test and Pakistan.
Yeah clinical win but the likes of Nicholls and Blundell need some runs. Catching needs to be addressed, it’s been patchy for quite a while and will cost NZ games against better sides. But yes can’t complain for the most part, here’s hoping for an improved Windies at the Basin and hopefully a cracking test.Easy win but obviously Kane and Latham set it all up the first day. Bowling was top notch, can't think we could have done any better with the ball. Room for improvement in batting department and catching needs fair bit of work. WI, they got to bat. The top order disappears before the drinks have arrived. Basin is not going to be easy, there's been rain around and I cannot think of anything other than absolute green deck with more bounce.
Yup was being tongue in cheek there. Full marks to Jermaine for taking him on and succeeding where others have perished early.I think if you told them each at the start of the innings that Blackwood was going to hit Wagner for five boundaries and ton up, but eventually get caught square leg off his bowling, Blackwood would've been the only one smiling. 1-1 seems generous to Wagner given that. 2-1 perhaps.
Not trying to be over confident and ****y but we'll be all right for the next 4-6 years at home. Have enough batting, bowling, wicket keeping stocks in the shed. Spin bowling is probably the only department we need some backups but that's only required when playing in sub continent so we'll get away with it.I dunno- I love to see us dominate. It's a golden period in NZ cricket - remembering that back in the 90s we'd celebrate a home series win over Zimbabwe. So being able to best almost everyone at home is a great feeling. Enjoy it while it last I reckon.
Also I def want to win all the remaining 3 tests. Real good chance of being in the Test Championship final if we do. I know lots of fans like to dismiss it cause it's a new thing but making the final would erase all bad memories of last year's series in Australia.
5:1 is absolutely horrendous. Deserves a dropping just to teach him a lesson imo.Good win, well set up by Latham and Williamson on day 1 - it was never a 520 wicket.
Wagner almost went a whole match without taking a short ball wicket!
I think pretty much everyone agrees that the WTC isn't something to be taken seriously, given how covid has compromised (the already badly compromised) format. Still it would be fun to watch us play Aus or India at Lords in a sorta high-stakes match.I dunno- I love to see us dominate. On a reasonably paced pitch where spin comes into play at the back end, Australia would be favourites v NZ at Lord's, especially with Taylor's best days looking well behind him. Would back NZ to beat India though. Can you guys please lose a test this summer? Your the one team in the running that I genuinly think should beat aus at lords.
yea nintendo is forgetting the top two inches. we melt in the face of australia, dunno whether it's trying too hard or what but how we go against other sides has no bearing on performances against aus, and vice versa. they're the only team to properly beat us in a decade on home soil and it wasn't close.I think pretty much everyone agrees that the WTC isn't something to be taken seriously, given how covid has compromised (the already badly compromised) format. Btw, does anybody know if the WTC final is being played with the Duke or the Kookaburra? I'm guessing it's the later given it's an ICC event.
SA beat us too, albeit with a heavy assist from the weather in 2017. The achilles heal of this NZ team is fast bowling and they're the two teams who can really expose NZ's frailties.yea nintendo is forgetting the top two inches. we melt in the face of australia, dunno whether it's trying too hard or what but how we go against other sides has no bearing on performances against aus, and vice versa. they're the only team to properly beat us in a decade on home soil and it wasn't close.
