I can't believe I ate the whole thing
They're supposed to be cheerleaders? They've brutally shred a hell of a lot of players over the years. I understand what you're saying in that they're never going to be particularly tough on stalwart members of the squad or their personal favourites, but they moan more than we do.
Doull ripped into Neesham during a test IIRC, about his bowling action. Maybe he knew he was going to be dropped and so felt confident in criticising.

And there then there was Hesson, who went on about his lack of emotional intelligence or whatever it was.

Elton Neeshumbura well and truly deserves criticism over that tbf.

Hesson and Smith basically calling him austistic was much more of a wtf though.

Smithy gave them both barrels for not selecting Bracewell for the WC ?
I don't think they necessarily have to be cheerleaders for individual players or selection decisions, but they do seem to be a bit gagged over what they can say about the aristocracy -- established players, coaches, administrators etc.

seifert's did some fc opening for northern last season and carter used to be one. they might also look at conway if they're hedging on blundell.

Yeah Conway opening for NZA would be fairly consistent given how often they've asked Young to do it.

I'm just happy they've rested or released Sears and Rachin. Want to see them play some white ball cricket for firebirds. Although they could say both need resting. Not sure but seeing Sears' name doesn't appear in the NZ A list for both the games I'm guessing that's it for him for NZ A. Rachin may have been rested after bowling 30+ overs and opening batting. Must be quite hard to concentrate when batting after having bowled 30+ overs. Vettori did that for couple of years.

Still recovering from watching yesterday's cricket and now getting ready to watch today's Strange times.

Could be rained off, but I'm seeing just the 3mm over the last five hours, onto an outfield we learnt about today as being a natural dune sand.

Really looking forward to today's game, we finally get a change of guard, freshness which is much required for this format and the rain can't keep away  It's been a shitty summer already with relentless **** weather.

I’m pretty sure I recall watching Seifert playing a really solid, defensive and sensible knock as an opener for ND last season. I thought he looked so much better playing that way.

Yes Seifert hasn't been too bad as a Plunket Shield opener, but that very hard and punchy bottom hand is likely to always be a real bane of his top-order play as the bowling improves up the levels. Don't be surprised if you click the dismissal on the scorecard and see it was an edge into an arc from about second slip to gully.
