to stop sweat running down his forehead, getting into the eyes etc. its not a fashion accessory. it has a purpose. similar to bumrah's full sleeve sweat band. minimizes sweat running down your arms so that you can grip the ball better and not have it slip.

its actually something akin to SWaugh’s red hanky. I think it was Zampa’s headband and Smith used it in a game a few years ago and made runs. So he basically stole it from him and has worn it since

he’s been excellent. Similar pace to Stoinis (but a better bowler overall, obvs). Maybe that’s the pace to bowl on this, with a few variations
