conway looks goooood in nz colours. i thought he was stitched up a bit because tests are probably his best format, but he still looked like he belongs.
I think I'm most confident of him succeeding in ODIs out of everything, as long as they don't make him bat down the order.

Kesrick is just not good enough. Every year he does well in the CPL, gets selected and then has a complete meltdown at international level.
His international record is actually surprisingly decent. He's just observably not good enough for mine, particularly on a circuit where coaches will be able to analyse and plan for his slower balls. He's not remotely accurate enough for the sort of bowler he is IMO.

Think West Indies will be cross about letting this one get away TBH, NZ were very rusty apart from 1-2 IPL returnees. Supreme as Ferguson was squandering a start of 55/0 off 3 overs has gotta hurt (though Pollard showed just how good he is). They did also have NZ on the ropes during that chase but the bowling after that wasn't up to it. Not a ptich conducive to Williams and Paul it must be said.

Another neat little thing that stuck out to me was Mccullum highlighting Phillips doing 800 pressups a day. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong...pretty sure he said 800.

800 pressups in a day....lol

I think both teams were rusty tbh and it showed. Hety, Pollard, Pooran, Cotterell, Thomas and Paul all came out of quarantine on the day before the match and then had to face Lockie's bombs. Considering that I thought both teams put in a decent effort and I enjoyed it.

I'm really not a fan of his. He has games where he does his thing and takes wickets, particularly on slow/low pitches. But I have seen him completely lose the plot whenever conditions are not in his favor, which in T20I's is most of the time.

I think they're missing a trick in not having Kyle Mayers in the side. I would bring him in for Kesrick tbh. Won;t lose out on the bowling and will get an excellent hitter of pace bowling into the side.

Quick thought circulating the rounds on twitter. Do we think Jamieson got away with more bouncers than he should have at Allen and Pollard? I missed that segment of our innings so don't really know but some West Indies fans are saying the umpiring on the short balls was a bit inconsistent. They wanted Oshane to bowl 6 short balls per over to see how many the umpires would call

On a lighter note, this is definitely one of the better NZ uniforms I've seen in recent times, wouldn't mind if this became the ODI kit too.

I missed this too, but wouldn't be surprised, the umpiring wasn't quite spot on all day.

Would love for something like the V-neck t20 kit from the 2014 wc become a thing. But yeah this current one is way better than the kit we had previously. I hope the teal kit we wore in the sydney ODI earlier this year would be a fantastic long term shirt.

It seems to me that if Fidel Edwards and Dwayne Bravo decided to make themselves available they'd actually improve the bowling lineup for next year's World Cup, and that's a scary thought given they're both 38 year old seamers who have played almost international cricket in the last five years.

Not really any point playing them in series like this (if they'd even want to?) but I wouldn't rule out a last minute inclusion for one or both of them if the blokes you tried in the mean time didn't work out.
