Worried about Umesh Yadav, was hoping he could be the wicket-taking powerplay bowler but early days he seems to not be taking wickets and leaking runs and Steyn seems to be short of his best so far. With Saini's impressing first outing if U Yadav can bowl 4 upfront taking something like 1 or 2-30ish would make our bowling attack serviceable. Sundar could bowl an over in powerplay and then middle overs and Chahal could be held back just a tad if the other bowlers stood up.

Whatever it takes!!!
Umesh outside the rough wickets of India always struggles though. His action just does not lend itself to consistent line and length bowling, at whatever pace. And he has lost pace now. So its very rough. The only plus with him is reverse and he does not have that here and generally in T20s anyways. He is still a great bet in India for tests as the second seamer (Shami being the only one who is clearly better in those conditions) but otherwise, its tough to keep him around overseas and even at home for LO cricket.

Shami has similar problem of often drifting down leg naturally due to his action but he seems to have worked very hard on overcoming it. He still does it now and then but it is far less frequent compared to Umesh. And he was the better bowler even before when both had the weakness. Shami's action is less prone to falling apart than Umesh's, basically.

Maxwell has no idea which end of the bat to hold in the ipl. Dropped the second ball playing that same uppish drive that got him out last game.

Don't think Dube is sustainable as a 6th bowler as things stand as not often we have all 5 bowlers on song in the same game but loving his wicket taking whilst it lasts

Fair point he does lose that skiddy nature here to an extent, don't mind the odd erratic ball if he is getting wickets but if he is unable to do either (keep the runs down or take wickets) not sure where that leaves us, perhaps as tournament goes on Negi in for him and Sundar can finally get an extended run bowling in the powerplay or Moeen in for Phillipe and then Gurkereet Mann can play at 6. Loving the idea of Dube wearing the purple cap next match potentially lol.

Rcb have experienced guns like steyn, finch, ab, kohli and young talents like philippe and pakiddal, batting performances like this are completely inexcusable for a lineup like this.

I'll always love Steyn but he really isn't a 'gun' anymore. Very hittable in this format unless he's got his slower balls/change ups on point

Was promising in his few appearances last year but worrying about our overseas players - Finch hasn't hit form in the IPL up until now, wouldn't have picked Phillipe in the first match myself (but once they did and won they probably had to pick him again), Steyn not started brilliantly. ABD has started tournament solidly but need the other overseas to step up to the mark as competition goes on - still only 2 games but don't want to be 6 matches in and having lost 5 on the bounce before reacting.
