BARNES OUT
Man that interview was a brutal watch. Feel bad for the guy, as much as you can feel bad for a man who has everything I guess.

Call me an idiot but IMO there's still twists to come here. Legs in the story.

We beat QPR 3-2. Entertaining game, both teams looking good going forward but iffy at the back.

Didn’t watch the England game. But a 1-0 win in Iceland with a last minute penalty doesn’t sound great, would have been great at the 2016 Euros though.

Imagine picking Kyle Walker when Trent exists.
Sometimes I see Walker and he looks really good, but it also feels like he’s made a big positional mistake and let the team down in every big game he’s ever played. Cole and Ferdinand were pretty accurate about him in that accidentally aired clip.

Not really three things I had previously associated with each other, but this maybe the most 2020 thing yet

Imagine putting Raheem on penalties
I was struggling to think who else there was on the pitch at the time. I suppose that Pickford has a 100% record courtesy of that 3rd place shoot out last summer. Dier scored the winning penalty against Columbia, but I don't know whether he's taken one since then. I can't say I'm keen on players rolling the ball into the centre of the goal for a penalty, but I'll take it. Obviously we weren't great yesterday, but that tends to happen in our first game of the season, so we'll see how they go in Denmark. It's odd that for all the talented youngsters we're producing over the rest of the park, we tend not to produce creative midfielders nowadays. Foden might go on to fill that gap, but it's very early days for him. And I may have forgotten someone who wasn't available yesterday.

Phillips-Foden is the present and future of England's midfield spine.
Maybe, but not just yet. Foden and Greenwood have been sent home because they don't think that the Covid rules apply to them and thought it was a good idea to invite a couple of girls back to the team hotel.
