yep, ordinary stuff this. Can spend all the time in the world working on your seam position but ultimately as a frontline finger spinner there is no excuse for not being able to land 50mphers on a dime.

I think this a classic example of Root's inability to read a situation. It's taking spin therefore we have to bowl our spinner. However, said spinner isn't actually bowling very well and we have Broad and Anderson at our disposal who would fancy their chances against these batsmen. Who, in turn, would be less confident against those guys.

Eng gave up too big a lead for this pitch. Even a string of modest partnerships will put the target beyond their reach, considering Superman Stokes hasn't turned up for this game.
