I think there isn't any chance of him going down the Akmal route now. He's had a good 3-4 years in international cricket, been gun in ODIs since day 1 and now he's worked out his Test game.

Akmal was only really good in that debut series against NZ, never backed it up after that despite all the talent.

Do we not do hot spot any more? You need both hotspot and ultra edge for calls like that ffs
They only seem to use hotspot in New Zealand now.

Don't get why they can't use both technologies. The ball appears to deviate to the naked eye, but snicko doesn't confirm he hit that.

That Broad LB appeal was an odd one, fair to give it not out and to uphold that but i am not totally sure there was an edge

Yeah, Akmal always struck me as a rich man's Mohammad Ashraful. Flashy and attractive strokeplay, but his defensive technique was too weak to keep him going once bowlers started to figure him out. Babar from what I've seen just looks like a good all round player.

Man, that is one long lower order for Pakistan. I don't really rate Shadab Khan's batting much though he's played a cameo or two. Rizwan is a decent batsman and should come in next.

He's really no more than a decent #9.

Shadab has to contribute. This lineup has three no. 11s in it. England's lower order at least has a bit more solidity, though now would be a good time for Woakes to rediscover his supposed batting skills.
