Is it just me or did international keepers used to be much better at keeping to spin? Feel like that type of catch used to be thought of as fairly routine, and now it's not. That isn't......great keeping.
Haha. Honestly just enjoying watching your guys bat. They're doing all the right things. If you weren't a Windies fan I would have asked you, "What do you know of heartbreak and what could have been?"
I think it's probably slightly worse now, but realistically in the time I've been watching cricket excellent keeping against spin has kind of been the exception rather than the norm. Might be imagining things though. Is it just me or did international keepers used to be much better at keeping to spin? Just a general decline in the standard of wicket keeping because so many teams prioritize a keeper's value with the bat imo. Bad keeping to spinners just sticks out more.Is it just me or did international keepers used to be much better at keeping to spin? Looking at Buttler's stance, he isn't even squatting all the way down. People like Healy, Mongia, Dhoni, Gilchrist used to go full ass-to-grass keeping to spin.Just a general decline in the standard of wicket keeping because so many teams prioritize a keeper's value with the bat imo. and of course, as I post that, Buttler drops a catch off Bess.. lolStill think as of now Bess is a better bet than the seamers to nick one of these out. If Root can be sensible about it though and not be ultra defensive.
Yeah MisYo were what kept them together. Misbah in particular is the greatest ever Pakistani cricketer for me in terms of non cricketing attributes. The doco had me a little teary eyed. Not enough Younis Khan though.
