*Official* Pakistan in England 2020

Whatever it takes!!!
I think it's also because of the poor light. But they are asking some questions of the batsmen too.
Yeah, was gonna add "given they cant use their seamers" to my post, lol. But it is intelligent thinking by whomever came up with this plan. Gotta assume its Root and give him credit, given how much we at CW blame him for poor strategies by England. Its only fair. Good on ya, Root.

What a horrible miss.
Completely unacceptable at this level.

Smart batting. He's got all the tools

Don't agree with Warne here... the one offie from over and one from around is actually a good tactic. If Buttler did not mess it up, it would have worked.

(re. Buttler) Must have intimate pictures of Smith. Had enough time and never really settled the doubt that he is good enough. I think 40 odd games is enough.
I think your first point would usually be the likeliest reason why he's still there. However, even Foakes' biggest supporters wouldn't want to see him batting at 6 for England. Not that I have a lot of faith in Buttler being a long term bet there either. It's something of a mess really.

It bounced massively but he looked absolutely leaden footed.
Really don't think it bounced massively, more like it dipped and pitched shorter than expected which is why Shan was defeated. But as a keeper, you have more time to adjust than the batsman, esp. when they have gone down the wicket. So unless he had probems sighting the ball in this light (which is very possible), it is horrible keeping really, not even bad or pathetic.

Babar reminds me of peak Root. Just keeps things ticking along with some ODI shots to own the spinners

It definitely bounced a fair bit it went past the lower handle of Shan's bat, but yeah he didn't react at all. Would have been a good stumping i think but he is a poor keeper of spin so he has no chance.
