unless your #1 is shakib you need to reconsiderTop stuff from Holder - winning the intense little contest against world's 2nd best all-rounder
Was playing so well early on just playing simply and dead straight. Just overcomplicated his own innings in the end.Felt Stokes was overdoing the stuff moving around the wicket.. That was a peach of a ball, but he would have given himself a much better chance had he stood still facing up to the ball.

It was fine while he was still settling in and obviously, it did put Roach off a bit during the 1st session and he lost his length and even line a little bit there. But where he overcomplicated it was when he started moving across too and then it became a thing where he walked down and across the pitch, and that is just asking for trouble against most test bowlers with the Dukes or the SG. Hayden used to do it often but he would walk down rather than down and across, it can enable a little bit more stability on your feet.I kind of get why Stokes was trying to unsettle Holder and Roach in particular. These guys have been really accurate and while the ball is continuing to move around you can’t just allow them stick it on the same spot ball in ball out as they won’t move because they’re so precise. A fair line of thinking from Stokes, and it’s not something he never tries, he does it regularly to bowlers of this ilk it just hasn’t’ the quite fully paid off today.
