What are you all talking about of course I will take Ambrose, Tim.

As good as he was though, I should probably take: Les Ames.

Stephen's Champions:

Zaheer Abbas
Bill Woodfull
Ricky Ponting
Sachin Tendulkar
Dudley Nourse
Ian Botham 3
Adam Gilchrist+
Kapil Dev 4
Alan Davidson 1
Shoaib Akhtar 2
Jim Laker 5

Overall I'm quite happy with my team.

Two excellent openers.
A middle order to die for. Ponting followed up by Tendulkar is the dream of anyone who has watched cricket since 2000. Nourse coming in at 5 gives an absolutely immense group of batsmen.
A bowling attack with the greatest off spinner of all time and a fast bowling attack that is greater than the sum of its parts. Pairing Ahktar with Davidson offers two incredibly different challenges and backing them up you have two completely different bowlers again in Botham and Kapil.

I didn't get Sobers, Hadlee, Ambrose, Steyn, Warne, McGrath or Murali, but I personally believe that this team is greater than the sum of its parts and would compete everywhere against everyone.
Hate to be 'that' guy but Zaheer was not an opener.

Neither is Laker the greatest off-spinner of all time. Stephen just overselling his team as usual...
Haha I actually meant finger spinner when I wrote that. Murali is weird. There aren't any other off spinners who were wrist spinners are there?

He does, he does. 2 8s or a 10 and a 6. I can afford a passenger if I have both Marshall and Ambrose but on the other hand my team has no discernible weak links and I don't really need another big name.

Gimme Bond*.

*If there's a god out there he'll let Weldone time out.

3 Tests at an average of 6.

I was really expecting you to pick Boycott or something.
Exactly. I was surprised to see him not going for Boycs or even Cook.

Same can be said about hb's selections. He missed out on some really good players despite being in position to snap them at that point of time.

Yeah Boycott wouldn't fit neatly into Stephen's team. Zaheer wasn't even much of a #3 actually.
