Nope, I can recall us having pretty much exactly the same conversation/argument when you claimed Starc should be dropped pre Ashes*. It's got nothing to do with any specific cricketer and everything to do your propensity make big claims without any consideration or nuance

This is a website I choose to visit for recreational purposes, it is not work that I am paid to do and I (and others) don't have to cite all my sources and write essays to back up everything I say, whether it's a serious comment (which is rare) or somewhere on the spectrum of being facetious. I simply wanted to hear more about who you thought may be a superior option in the middle order. As it turned out you hadn't even bothered to get that far.

no it doesn't. At no stage did I say this and I've literally reiterated to you that I didn't say this multiple times. if you're going to whinge so much about my post I would have thought you might try actually reading it and, ideally, understanding it

I have no respect at all for making big claims and not attempting to justify them. Frankly sometimes it seems like you are just making it up as you go along

If a test match was to happen tomorrow, I would absolutely back him over Burns and Wade, and probably Head, but given how selection typically plays out, it's not a surprise. they botched things when they dropped Bancroft for Harris when they should have left Bancroft in the team, and then moved Usman to opening once Smith recovered. But he got dropped, and then wasn't "In form", and then Australia won matches, which means you simply have to stick with the winning team.

Khawaja is a class opener and has played 2 atg knocks in that position but at the end of the day he had been in horrible form for a while, minus his 100 vs a piss poor, demoralized sri lanka, he'de made no runs since the uae, and if khawaja was coming in 5-1/10-2 in the ashes consistently and failing what insentive do the selectors have to let him open, in no way did they botch things.

Khawaja has never been given a decent run as an opener in tests which surprises me because he clearly goes better when opening.
