Yea that's something that gets discussed quite a bit. People are just risk a bit risk adverse about it - say you shorten the game but the rain never comes. But I think we're in a place now where you can probably trust rain forecasts on the day of the game to be accurate enough to where match officials and administrators can start planning around it before it hits.

And you can surely trust the actual physical rain showing up on an actual physical radar. That's not a forecast, that's real.
