however, during this research i discovered that Smith has been dismissed 10 times in his last 75 test innings (and this is the most generous method, counting backwards to the last lbw). so, indeed, an incredible stat.

I've been lbw 3 times in well over 100 innings of club cricket

I favour the offside and rarely play across the line, mainly opting to play straight to straight balls

I'd imagine people like Phil Hughes(who seemed to score so many runs between point and cover) would also have really low lbw percentage

The only exception to this I could think of would be against off-spinners.

Have just checked and Hughes was dismissed 7 times lbw in tests, but all 7 were to spinners

Now I remember he was happy to play legside to spin, bringing up his first ton with a cow corner six off Paul Harris iirc

But yeah against pace it would have been hard to get him lbw just because he wasn't trying to hit many balls legside

I guess that's how percentages work though isn't it? If you're atypically low on one form of dismissal then you have to be atypically higher on others.
