This second wicket partnership between Devon Smith and Kaveem Hodge well and truly is taking the Windwards to a position of comfort.
They lead Guyana by 16 runs. And just over two sessions remaining for the end of the match. They've lost first innings points. I don't see them accelerating the score to set Guyana a target. No declaration coming.

I once thought that this TT side was a powerhouse batting outfit...but they are falling like flies against pace. They crumbled to 77 in their second innings

I don't disagree with you. They have played well. Even with a captain who is struggling with the bat. They have good players who plays the format well. Bowlers are some of the best in the region. Taking 20 in a match enhances your chances of winning.
Five years in a row champs. I am proud of that for the Jaguars. This year, we haven't been up to par with the bat as previous years. It'd be a tough task chasing Barbados for the top spot. There are 5 more rounds to go. Anything can happen

A spinner leads the list, yes, but look at the names that are fast bowlers: Holder, Harding, Smith, Berridge, Gordon, McSween.
Nicholson Gordon is a towering figure. Something like Ian Bishop, he causes problems for the batsmen with the extra bounce he gets off the wicket. Just needs to be more on target though. Nial Smith hasn't done much in the last two matches. Guyana might want to give him a rest for the next round match.

News from the Jamaica Scorpions camp:
John Campbell and Peat Salmon have been banned from bowling.
Salmon made his debut against the Jaguars a few rounds ago and immediately made an impact, leading the way with the ball to defeat Guyana. His action looked questionable.
Good that CWI are weeding these guys out. Hope he works on the action.

So good to see actual proper quicks up on the wickets list.
Remember a few seasons back where Kevin Stoute with his 120k nothings was the only seamer high on the wickets list. Nobody can possibly say that is good for cricket.
Campbell's bowling is no great loss. Looked barely more than part time anyway

I feel that this is a result of the points a team can get from pace bowling.
We clearly need a much deserved renaissance of pace bowling in the West Indies.

I think it helps that these younger guys will be coming into a setup that has some decent experience and skill in the bowling. Someone like Roach for example has plenty to offer in terms of knowledge and guidance, a benefit he didn't really have when bursting into the scene as a young tearaway way back around 2008-2009

I think that's been one of the reasons for Barbados' success. They have the most balaced team in the tournament....good pace bowling triplet. It's just great watching them bowling in tandem...

Cornwall will make a massive (forgive the pun) difference overseas as he offers control and threat. We haven't had a spin bowler like that for a long long time. That will allow the pacers to do their thing.
I agree that Gabriel is the weak link at the moment, which is a sign of how far our bowling attack has come in the last 2 years. Chemar Holder is definitely ready for a chance with his decent pace and accuracy. I have my eye on Keon Harding or Nial Smith for the enforcer role (both are very quick) but neither of them are quite ready yet. Oshane Thomas could do it if he gets fit and learns how to bowl more than 4 overs.
