Whatever it takes!!!
Dunno how many overs Bumrah has bowled this spell, but if he needs a break, I would rather get Ash on at the left hander early in his innings than Shami. Also, question to the Kiwi posters here: does it reverse at the Basin? Sand based outfield might rough up the ball a bit, yeah?

I hope they show a slo mo as it looked like he took the bottom hand off the bat either before or after the ball hit it.

Edit: Nah didn’t remove it in time. I’m still a bit scarred by Rod Tucker giving me out at Lords in 2012 when my hand wasn’t on the bat. :)

And of course who can forget the way the 2005 Edgebaston test ended.

To think of all the bowlers we were concerned about Ishant

I, for one, was never concerned about his ability. It was just his injury and how many overs he can do coming back directly to test match cricket without any FC or LO cricket behind him.

****ing hell kane is still only 29 1/2, he has another solid 4-5 years left in his tank yet. Thought he was 32 by now.

A most pleasing scorecard to wake up.

Ishant has been bowling well all morning. I know he's been good for a while but that Taylor wicket was so good.

Wow 30 years to the day since Smithy’s big day out. And he’s still loving it.

Nicholls is a walking wicket for Ashwin imo. Just needs to slow it down a touch to him.

Nichols looks pretty terrible so far. Ashwin just needs to draw him forward a tad and he should be able to create something.
