Silent Draft

Everyone has voted except ankitj; and ankitj cannot match the highest bid for any of the 11 players available, so we'll move on:

Round 5 successful bids:
milenko47: Graeme Pollock ($164,547)
honestbharani: Virender Sehwag ($50,000), WG Grace ($30,000), Clyde Walcott ($60,000), Shaun Pollock ($20,000)
mr_mister: Andy Flower ($31,000), Allan Donald ($46,000)
Red Hill: Wasim Akram ($60,000), Dale Steyn ($60,000), Curtly Ambrose ($60,000)

No-one gets Ricky Ponting as both Red Hill and stephen bid $60,000 for him.

ankitj (by default), stephen: no successful bids

Picks to date:
honestbharani: (8): Don Bradman, Shane Warne, Aubrey Faulkner, George Headley, Virender Sehwag, WG Grace, Clyde Walcott, Shaun Pollock : $265,000 remaining
mr_mister: (10): Jack Hobbs, Len Hutton, Sydney Barnes, Wally Hammond, Kumar Sangakkara, Dennis Lillee, Charles Macartney, Jack Gregory, Andy Flower, Allan Donald : $27,000 remaining
milenko47: (11): Garry Sobers, Adam Gilchrist, Vinoo Mankad, Viv Richards, Ray Lindwall, Herbert Sutcliffe, Bill Ponsford, Maurice Tate, Wilfred Rhodes, Clarrie Grimmett, Graeme Pollock
ankitj : (7): Sachin Tendulkar, Steve Smith, Malcolm Marshall, Glenn McGrath, Alan Knott, Bill O'Reilly, Muttiah Muralitharan : $8,648 remaining
Red Hill: (12): Shakib Al Hasan, Mike Procter, Kapil Dev, Barry Richards, Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara, Stan McCabe, Les Ames, Harold Larwood, Wasim Akram, Dale Steyn, Curtly Ambrose
stephen: (6): Farokh Engineer, Jacques Kallis, Keith Miller, Ian Botham, Imran Khan, Richard Hadlee : $193,000 remaining

Red Hill has picked 12 players, so has to discard one of Wasim Akram, Dale Steyn and Curtly Ambrose (as he bid the same amount for them all in the last round, he gets to choose which), and is no longer involved in the bidding.
milenko47 has his XI so is also no longer involved in the bidding.

Haha, I was going to say if I should even bother. Looks like I didn't need to

Am I allowed to keep the three and discard Larwood, seeing as I am still well within budget?

I'm biased because it suits me at this stage, in this game, but I think we should be allowed to keep bidding on players if we have cash in reserve, and then select an XI or XII from the pool we gather.

Was wondering if RH would up me on Graeme Pollock.

1. H Sutcliffe
2. WH Ponsford
3. IVA Richards
4. RG Pollock
5. GS Sobers*
6. AC Gilchrist +
7. W Rhodes (as a batting all-rounder)
8. MH Mankad
9. MW Tate
10. RR Lindwall
11. CV Grimmett

Then I wouldn't have bid all mine for Pollock. A bit late.

Man ankit is gonna sweep up some great players for next to nothing in the coming rounds, isn't he?
Possibly but he still needs 4 batsmen, so he basically will get the leftovers from what the rest of us want.

Though there are still plenty of good players that haven't been up for grabs.

Should we set a round limit?
