Whatever it takes!!!
Question: if we have another round, its basically Ankit choosing whomever he wants from the options you give?

Honest Hunks

WG Grace (vc) (4)
Virender Sehwag (7)
Don Bradman (c)
George Headley
Clyde Walcott (backup wk)
AB De Villiers (wk)
Aubrey Faulkner (6)
Shaun Pollock (2)
Alan Davidson (1)
Shane Warne (5)
Fred Trueman (3)

Love this side. 3 of the greatest ever and the Black Bradman and probably the most stylish batsman of the Ws and the first (and so far, ONLY) 360 degree player. One of the greatest ever fast bowlers and two line and length merchants who are more than capable with the bat too. In addition to the mercurial Sehwag at hte top and one of the finest allrounders of all time at 7. To be captained by the greatest batsman of all time. :) 7 bowling options, 4 seamers and 3 spinners, can play anywhere in the world and be awesome.

Stephen's superstars.

Hayden
Morris
Barrington
Weekes
Kallis (6)
Miller (2)
Botham (3)
Imran (4)
Engineer+
Benaud (c) (5)
Hadlee (1)

This side has has more ATG bowling options than any other side. The plan is that the middle order grind the opposition down by anchoring the tail, all of whom have at least two centuries to their names.

The tail is simply the best tail in history. The middle order has three batsmen who average over 55. The openers are two of the best left handed openers in history. This side would be very difficult to beat and would always have the firepower to take 20 wickets, regardless of the surface.

Bowling- wise, Hadlee opens with Miller, Botham bowls first change and Imran acts as the old ball specialist. Benaud and Kallis can fill in the other overs. Obviously on spinning wickets Benaud can take on a bigger role.

And nobody can say they have a better looking side. Miller, Engineer, Imran and even Benaud were all Adonises.

Whomever Andy picks is random too though, Ankit. :) TBH, I am ok for Ankit to choose one of the unpicked players, but this being an Auction draft, I dunno if that makes it unfair on the guys who did do the auctions well and got the playes we got.

ankitj should just get whoever he wants because the alternative is Andrew posting list after list after list and him refusing to bid until the player he wants comes up anyway

I didn't know this alternative but that'd be a good trick

Yeah picking someone who was already rejected could work. So long as he doesn't get Ponting haha.

Why can't you have Gordon Greenidge and Bruce Mitchell as openers in your XI? :( They must be next in pecking order.

Give me 5 minutes.

Thanks to all who took part. I think it's clear that I should have spent more time thinking through possible issues before I launched this, but nevertheless I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Poll is now up.

There were a couple of ways that it could be improved. With only 6 players there were probably too many ATG players who were too similar. Mixing in a few more ordinary players could have spiced things up. Also ending the game after 7 rounds would have meant there was enough time for everyone to get their players and still have a few players who weren't drafted.

But overall it was a well run draft. Thanks for playing everyone.

Also, according to game theory, the highest bidder should pay the second highest bid for each player. This creates the fairest/truest price. It doesn't work quite so well with multiple- lot auctions but the theory still applies.
