May seem like a bit of a stupid question, but why has Nic Maddinson not been given the test callup as an opener yet? His domestic stats have been insane the last 2 shield seasons.

Its not stupid I guess the answer is a few reasons.

- Poor record in his 3 Tests put him behind the pack.
- Renshaw and Harris both had good Shield runs so they were justified selections
- Injuries and mental health issues
- Dirty mo and earring combo

Honours more or less even at the Adelaide Oval, 3/115. Weatherald has looked class for his half century, had a real good dynamic partnership with Head until the latter unfortunately nicked a wide one not long before lunch. There was certainly movement available but the WA bowlers were a bit inconsistent, Paris bowled a nice couple of overs including a fine delivery to remove Hunt, but in general the whole attack offered up too many loose balls
