From 2 off 7 to an innings of utmost importance.

Larkin is going to be like Hussey, great numbers but by the time he eventually gets his reward he will have so little time to share his gifts that we will lament not having more of it.

the thunder didn't deserve to make the final given their weird selections (mainly the 3rd and 4th seamer rotation and the change in keeper midway through the league, I can only assume because they wanted a 'better' keeper', who proceeded to drop a simple catch that ended their season) but I quite like a lot of their team.

Lenton with a rare quantifiably negative impact on the game. First I've seen since Marcus Harris in the fifth Ashes test.

they just need to get rid of sams and mcandrew

okay they need another middle order power hitter, but i just cannot like a team that has sams and mcandrew in it, thems the rules

like are we really just going to ignore that there's going to be like 50000mm of rain in sydney over the next five days and thus there is miniscule chance of getting within the same postcode as a game of cricket on saturday

They'll have a new middle order keeper-batsman next season. Ben Abbott has started keeping in ones with a view to that very spot, and believe me, there's<50 blokes on the planet who hit the ball harder than he does. He inflicts GBH with intent on it.

Compared to the Channel 10 years, it's been rather limp since the Fox/7 split deal.

Limp in excitement and maintaining interest that is, the abject comedy is probably as good as its ever been.
A part of it is that cricket is far less in the summer zeitgeist and national conversation now that only 5 tests are on show on fta. The Big Bash just doesn't have the same gravitas as ten to twelve limited overs internationals. Even for the folks who do enjoy the BBL, most people aren't necessarily going to watch the majority of neutral games anyway.

Yeah I don't understand why they didn't move the final as well as the bushfire match.
Probably because it would be a bit **** for the sixers to play away for the final that they earned hosting rights to. Especially as it would most likely have been at the MCG, their opponent's home ground.

So the BBL final is live on BT Sport 2 at 8am tomorrow morning and the Bushfire match is on BT Sport 1 at 4am on Sunday. I'm still trying to find out who has the broadcasting rights for the IPL, anyone know? Hoping it's BT Sport like last year as I don't have Sky.
