I realize you might not be familiar with it, but if anyone brings Bundaberg Rum within a 20 metre radius of me I will insta-vomit repeatedly.

White rum on the other hand is delicious.
I'll definitely google it to see what it looks like...

But yeah, I wholeheartedly agree with you about the white rum.

I think this thread (and the other ATG thread) proves that the Australia/India rivalry is the greatest of all cricket rivalries. When the two sides aren't playing us fans are always in here going back & forth in the most entertaining of ways. Nothing beats it really.

The Poms are also great value, but due to timezone differences they are almost always absent during the juiciest parts. The Kiwis all seem to live on their own planet, chatting amongst themselves. The South Africans are surprisingly quite reserved & friendly. SCC is great representation for the Carribean whilst ***** does his part to represent BD & the non-Test nations.

All we really need is for randycricfreak to return for some biased Lankan POV's & perhaps a few more Pakistani posters (they're all on PakPassion, clearly). But as it stands right now it's Australia vs India all the way!

Not really a rivalry tbh. It's very telling that it always involves stephen and sunilz, and that TJB can somehow be a voice of reason though.

I think andyzaltzhair represents BD.

And yeah, the time zone difference does kill the vibes a bit, but it's always nice to catch up on stuff that was discussed while I was sleeping.

Whatever it takes!!!
For me, it is really unfair in limited overs games to compare MO and TO batsmen. They really seem to need rather diferent skills even within the broad aspects of batsmanship. But for the life of me I do not see how any of the MO guys can be rated above Richards, Sachin and so-far-Kohli. I dare say Kohli might even end up being better than Sir Viv and Sachin.

That said, Bevan and Dhoni deserve their spot in the ODI batting rushmore as much as the top 3 I just mentioned. They all created benchmarks that really cannot be surpassed.

ODI XI by runs in position:

Tendulkar (Ind)
Jayasuriya (SL)
Ponting (Aus)
Taylor (NZ)
Ranatunga (SL)
Dhoni+ (Ind)
Harris (NZ)
Akram (Pak)
Mortaza (Ban)
Younis (Pak)
Murali (SL)

Unsurprisingly dominated by India and Sri Lanka. Both Waqar and Wasim made the cut too. I was surprised to see both kiwis there - obviously Kohli has not yet made enough runs at 4, having played a lot at 3 as well.

That somehow worked out pretty well with two of the best fast bowlers and Murali in the attack.

I'm 99% convinced that he's already the greatest ODI batsman ever.

He may well be if he retires today. But we always have to let the career play out before judging current players, at least IMO. Though, I feel in his case, it might enhance it even.

It is difficult to completely dismiss an argument that Kohli is the greatest ODI batsman of all time. But something keeps telling my mind that Viv still edges it. *****ing mental batsman, could do things that many other superb batsmen couldn't and comfortably my favorite batsman growing up.

Yeah I was gonna say that the one guy that could edge it over Kohli is Viv.

Viv, Sachin, Virat, Ponting & Lara would constitute my top 5.

I wanted to do an XI by wickets taken while batting in position X but the stats guru filters don't work properly.
