I think they want to avoid not having an even vaguely decent emergency sixth bowling option. When it's Kohli you're probably just going to make the proper bowler with 9 overs 0/80 bowl the tenth one regadless, and that's a bit of a problem. The amount of India's best batsmen who just don't bowl at all is actually kind of weird. I noticed Agarwal sent down a couple of overs after NZ A were 100000/4; I wonder what he's like.Jadhav again? Why haven't we moved on from him yet? I mean he was good for a while, but surely Manish Pandey or someone would have been better. Pandey hasn't done that badly in his recent limited overs outings either, and is a gun in the field.
Not watching, how is Sodhi letting them go? Even though he ostensibly bowled well in the T20s, everything was coming out of the front of the hand - more like finger spin variations than genuine leg breaks and googlies
I see what you mean now. He seems to be doing a bit of both.I didn't watch those games but he's bowling properly today.
Lol Bumrah“It was the during the ODI series in Sri Lanka (in 2017) where we had almost won everything, I asked MS (Dhoni) if I could bowl. Just when I was getting ready to roll my arm over, Bumrah (Jasprit) shouted from the boundary and said ‘no joking around, it is an international game’.
“No one in the team believes in my bowling but I do. After that I had back issues and then never bowled (in the middle),”
Bowling average of 166.25Is there any reason Kohli has given up bowling lately?
One of the best WC T20I matches in history. The last time I remember him bowling was that WT20I semifinal where he somehow even picked up a wicket.
just a few wickets away till a Rubel Hossain-esque averageBowling average of 166.25
Strike rate of 160.25
Economy rate of 6.22
It looks horrible but maybe it works *shrug* Hard to know how much is deliberate and how much is him struggling with his actionI see what you mean now. He seems to be doing a bit of both.
He probably just couldn't pretend he didn't suck at it any longer. He's bowled in 48 ODIs for 4 wickets @ 167, going at well over a run a ball in doing do. It's arguably the worst bowling record in the history of the format; he has comfortably the worst average for anyone who's bowled in at least 15 games. Is there any reason Kohli has given up bowling lately?
Nah, Rubel 'RBX' Hossain averages 34.13 in ODIsjust a few wickets away till a Rubel Hossain-esque average
