It's about bloody time ABDV earned his pay cheque.

I don't know why they dropped Burns from the squad. He did very well in the middle order a season or two ago.

Also very quaint of the Stars to replace their bowler with another Pakistani. Very good.

Cutting's eco rate is close to 8, which I suspect is the lowest it's been for a few seasons, and he's still getting wickets. I really don't think he's been too much of a problem with the ball. The problem is, a Pattinson/Cutting/Laughlin seam attack is crying out for a combined 10 overs for 100 runs

they've ended up believing they should play 2 spinners but also play 4 seamers

Pierson being dumped is a bit who cares, but I would have probably picked a batsman to replace him with
Cutting has actually been pretty good this season. Much better than his normal "one good over a season".

AB must have went crazy as I could have sworn at one stage he faced 14 balls and a had SR under 80.

does anyone know what the thunder need to do as far as their runrate is compared to the hurricanes.

as a cane fan, we need the thunder to win, but not by enough to pass the canes net runrate, and we need the canes then to beat the strikers, than no matter what the heat do, we are through.

Perth were going at 6 an over and the Thunder had 4 overs to come from bowlers who were going for under 6 an over. I get that the 12 over thing means you boost the RRR for the Thunder, but a RRR of 8 seems high to me. I think a 7.5 RR calculation (so a target of 90) would be sensible

So you are talking 6 runs too many, not too far off. I feel like Scorchers being just 4 down has helped them, even if there was some question marks about how their tail would do.

I quite like how Thunder go about their batting, but they aren't exactly built for a reduced overs game (Hales aside).

BTW Scorchers were going at 6.60 per over, not quite 6.

Excellent little knock from David before the rain denied him a 50. His D/L adjusted score is 32 (15).
