 I just miss Gabbar.

And there is something called SENSE which is usually missing in your posts about Australia or Australlian players in Cricket Chat. Or just this one that I quoted. 8-) And Stephen, THAT is how you do the roll eyes emoji. :)
A player who scores nearly 10 runs more per innings is simply better

Not rocket science

Next world cup is in India and Maxwell will be too old. Australia are moving on from Maxwell and Khawaja to prepare for it.
he'd be 35, I don't think it's unreasonable for him to be around, but yes, this squad has been picked on the back of Maxwell sucking in ODI cricket this year and there being no realistic all-round options (because Stoinis is in the same boat as Maxwell and Marsh wasn't bowling yet), so they just picked Turner, who had a good series in India before and picked Agar as the all-rounder, which also allows them to get a further look at Agar as the second spinner option. These are two players who will be around for the next WC and clearly have interesting elements about them, but haven't come close to nailing down a spot in the OD team. it was the the correct thing to do for future planning, which is separate to whether it was the 'best' thing to do for the now

For Maxwell to be playing at the next WC he would need to be in incredible form IMO. He doesn't bowl enough these days, his best fielding days will be behind him (he'll still be good though) so he would need a late career resurgence to be worth picking. Especially if Finch/Warner are opening.

I can't see Khawaja there though. Labu looks a natural fit for the number 4. I'd like to see Carey bat at 6 and play Marsh at 7. Someone like Renshaw or Head might be a good fit for number 6 - can bowl some offies and seem well suited to the middle order role in limited overs cricket.

I don't think Agar or Turner are good enough to bat top 7 currently.

Bhuvi is perfect for this team. Opens the bowling with Bumrah and gets 6-8 overs in that one go and shores up the batting. Shami becomes more of a middle over and death over bowler.

Hey, for meaningless jamodi series' I'd pick Kohli in my side first any day of the week. For a world cup I'd have to think about it a bit before picking him first.

I expect India to chase this easily. I always do, and am usually right.

I don't think Agar or Turner are good enough to bat top 7 currently.
I've asked this before, but can anyone tell me what is special about Turner? He's looked bog ordinary every time I've seen him play.
