Shield Round 6 - A lopsided season this year with only 4 games after the new year
NSW steamrolled the Qld pretenders, SA won their first game of the season with the Tassie bats unable to put up a decent score aginst the SA pacers. A debacle at the MCG, the game being called a draw and the points split after inconsistent bounce due to moisture in the pitch was deemed dangerous.
NSW on top with 5 wins out of 6 Sandgropers, 2 wins and 3 draws, a fraction of a point in front of the Bananabenders, 3 wins and one draw. The Croweaters have jumped Tassie for 4th, The Vics still winless but with 3 draws.
Star of the round was Weatherald with 126, Henriques with 116, Millenko with an end of innings 100 with 4 sixers, McDermott with 89, Neville with 88no and Abbott with 86. Harry Conway 5/15 from 15 overs was best with the ball while WAgar continued his good season with 5/53 in the Tas second innings to go with 3/68 in the first.
