Still worth the risk in English conditions to be fair. You would also imagine he wouldnt have to bowl as many overs as he did in this game

Woakes or Archer?
COverton is still with the squad too.

But suspect it'll be Jofra, elbow permitting. Man in possession and coming off a 5-for, albeit an expensive one.

We might see Leach back for Bess too. Young Dom did a solid containing job, but doesn't look too much of a wicket taking threat.

I don't really approve of sledging in general.

I have noticed a difference between the reaction here to Buttler calling Philander fat, and ***** and I doing it on most episodes of the podcast
I know it is supposed to add 'edge' but I felt it quite unnecessary at the time. People are just assuming he reacted to something Philander did which we don't really know.

I wonder what sort of track we expect at Port Elizabeth. If it's quicker than what we've seen so far I wouldn't want to be without Archer, assuming he's fit. And I'd bowl him first change actually, as I reckon Broad and Curran make better use of the brand new ball. If Archer isn't fit, then presumably Woakes plays. I don't see how Wood is picked unless 3 of the others go down with the squits again.

And agreed about Leach vs Bess. Leach was the man in possession until he was unwell and definitely looks more of a threat to SA's right-handers than Bess. The youngster's supposedly superior batting wasn't quite borne out at Cape Town either.

I was wondering what it is going to sound like. PE Band on one side and the rinse and repeat Barmy Army on the other. Individually it sounds okish, but all at the same time could cause quite the din

Someone is going to get in trouble at Sport24, most people know what f-ing means or f**k

England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler has been fined 15 percent of his match fee after he was caught on live TV calling Proteas veteran Vernon Philander a "****ing knobhead".

Are Demerit Points still a thing? I thought the Buttler incident was one of the sort of things they were supposed to cover?

PE is never quick, it most likely will be slower then newlands. Certainly nowhere close to centurion.

I’d go.........

Sibley, Crawley, Denly, Root, Stokes, Pope, Buttler, Curran, Bess, Wood, Broad.

Don’t think Archer is fit. Wood is apparently raring to go. Think they liked enough of Bess holding one end allowing the seamers to rotate at the other. Suddenly we seem to have a settled top 7.
